Berry squares [ View Interactive Version ]

In his 1778 plat of the Monticello orchard Jefferson specified an area for gooseberries, raspberries, currants, and figs next to the vineyard below the garden wall. The general location and layout of the squares was repeated in later plans, nestled between the Northeast vineyard and the later Southwest vineyard.
