Also called the "lower roundabout" by Jefferson, the fourth roundabout is the lowest and longest of the four roundabouts. In a survey of the Fourth Roundabout dated ca. 1808-1809, Jefferson listed the circumference as 2.32 miles. Today at least 25 percent of the circuit is quite clear.
