Third Roundabout [ View Interactive Version ]

Two surveys from 1809 show the course of the Third Roundabout. In one of them Jefferson calculates its circumference to be 1.559 miles. Fifteen years later Jefferson noted that his slave Wormley was "making a horse path on the 3d. Roundabout & North side where it is very steep." Today only traces remain of this roundabout.
